If You Do Not Teach Them Values, They will Learn it from Someone other than you.

Every teenager is in the process of forming their identity. At the centre of that identity are values.
Values influence decisions, friendships, boundaries and long term direction. Yet, values are not absorbed automatically. They are taught, reinforced and most importantly, modelled.
In today’s world, young people are exposed to multiple influences, from social media to peer pressure. Without strong guidance at home, they may adopt beliefs and behaviours that do not align with your family’s principles.
Teaching values goes beyond instruction. It involves conversations, lived examples and consistent reinforcement.
It also requires openness. Teenagers need to feel safe discussing topics such as relationships, attraction, personal struggles and even past experiences that may have affected them deeply.
When parents create a safe and non judgemental environment, values are not imposed, they are embraced.
